January 18th. 2012 –  Banyan Night – Tall tales but true were presented by a variety of Members.

Feb. 15th 2012 – – AGM # 43. Garry Read was installed as President. The Guest Speaker for the evening was Trevor Bedford who recounted some of his exploits on the  Murray  River as a river boat Capt..

March 21st. 2012 –  Scott Frankham (Member) told of his adventures in the Antarctic on a ship called ‘M.V. Sir Hubert Wilkins.’ 

April 18th. 2012      April 15th 1912 was the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. Scott Rickard (Member) and his wife Niina prepared a delightful evening of surprises with models, paintings and a great display of memorabilia from a recording of the initial SOS, to a piece of coal from the ship. Commemorative bottles of wine were also produced to complement a meal which replicated that of the day.

May 16th. 2012    – Ken Wood spoke to us on his vast maritime background and on his recent book “From Coal Dust to Gold Dust”, an autobiographical account of his journey so far. Following this talk Ken applied to become a Club Member.From Coal Dust to Gold DustJune 20th. 2012       Ladies Night – Vicki Jones told us of a journey undertaken by the Jones’s through part of the U.S. Intercoastal Waterway.

July 18th. 2012       –  Brian Johnson (Member) shared some of his experiences as Fleet Manager of Port Lincoln Tugs.Loadline

August 15th. 2012   – Jonathan Harry (Member) talked on his research and comparison of the submarine warfare of the nations of World War II .                                           

Sept. 19th. 2012   – Neil Murphy discussedthe Australian Container Industry  and updated us with the latest operations at the SA Container Terminal.

Oct. 17th. 2012   – Trafalgar Night – Trevor Powell spoke on the life of Lord Nelson, including the battles of the Nile and Trafalgar.  Lord Nelson

Nov. 21st. 2012    – Kingsley “Bones” Haskett  treated us to another evening of sometimes amusing experiences in the building and maintaining of wooden boats in and around Searles Boatyard in the Port of Adelaide. Searles

Dec. 7th. 2012        Christmas DinnerLadies Night – Doug Kneebone’s Night of Mystery Objects & Quiz, plus the usual exciting auction of numerous nautical items conducted by resident auctioneer –Bruce Macky, who was ably assisted by Capt. Bob Buchanan as runner.
